Dr. Andreasen obtained her Degree of Optometry from the University of Waterloo where she was also awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree. She completed an externship with the OMNI Eye Services of Atlanta that allowed her to gain valuable experience working with ophthalmologists specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, retinal diseases, cataracts and corneal diseases. Dr. Andreasen has also worked with the School of Optometry, conducting research projects. These projects were partnered with the Oxford County Board of Health and involved the vision screening of children entering school.

Dr. Andreasen has taken a great personal interest in the area of myopia management as research has proven the ability to slow the progression of nearsightedness among our youth. She has completed courses in fitting MySight contact lenses and BEFREE corneal reshaping lenses as well as has attended several Symposiums on myopia management. BEFREE reshaping lenses can help many nearsighted patients see without glasses, or LASIK.

Dr. Andreasen’s on-going education has resulted in the completion of the world renowned, Sanet-Vergara Vision Therapy course. Working alongside Oxford Optometry’s vision therapist, Dr. Andreasen offers vision therapy for conditions such as strabismus, learning disabilities and post-concussion symptoms.

Dr. Andreasen’s life-long passions for both education and optometry, has led to Oxford Optometry being a coveted externship location for fourth year Optometry students. Education is an important aspect to Dr. Andreasen’s practice, enjoying the opportunity to share by taking on the role of mentor.

Dr. Andreasen is a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists, the Ontario Association of Optometrists, Eye Recommend, Vision Therapy Canada, and the Ocular Wellness and Nutrition Society. She is also affiliated with TLC and LASIK MD to provide co-management services to those patients seeking LASIK or PRK vision correcting procedures. Dr. Andreasen enjoys all aspects of primary care practice, seeing patients of all ages.  When not working, she can often be found running the local trails. 

Meet Dr. Jessica Nguyen! 

Dr. Nguyen graduated in 2017 from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry where she earned a spot on the Dean’s Honours list. She also received her Bachelor of Science degree with distinction from the University of Guelph. 

Dr. Nguyen completed her Ocular Disease and Therapeutics externship in Kentucky at the Lexington Veterans Medical Affairs Center. This rotation allowed her to learn about diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of ocular diseases, such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. 

Dr. Nguyen has volunteered with ICARE International, which provides eye care to those in developing countries, and she hopes to participate in more volunteer eye care projects abroad. She’s currently focused on managing ocular disease and vision therapy. 

Dr. Nguyen is passionate about all aspects of optometric care, especially getting to know and help each of her patients. She believes in taking a patient-centered approach to eye care, so you can see why she’s such a great fit for our team. 

When Dr. Nguyen isn’t hard at work, she loves to cook and experiment with new recipes, as well as go hiking and traveling with her family.Fun Fact: Dr. Nguyen owns 2 rabbits, Lexi and Jax!

Dr. Duimering graduated from the University of Waterloo with her Doctor of Optometry degree (Dean’s Honours List) and Bachelor of Science in 2021. She was recognized as the top clinical student in her class, receiving both the J.C. Thompson Memorial Prize for Optometry and the AAOF Award of Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care.

In 2024, she completed a Fellowship with the Canadian College of Specialties in Optometry (CCSO) with a focus on ocular disease, further enhancing her clinical expertise in diagnosing and managing complex eye conditions. She values building long-term relationships and is committed to delivering care that is both evidence-based and tailored to individual needs.

She is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists, and she works closely with TLC and LasikMD to co-manage care for patients undergoing laser vision correction or premium cataract surgery.

When she’s not in the clinic, Dr. Duimering enjoys golfing and skiing with her husband, Luke, and spending time with their dog, Lucy.

Returning to her hometown of Woodstock after a successful 35 year career as a producer and fashion stylist, Suzanne is now using her organizational skills and love of logistical puzzles to ensure our office runs smoothly and seamlessly.

When you call us at Oxford Optometry it will be Vicky`s warm voice that will put you immediately at ease. You will be able to feel her smile and warm energy through the phone lines making her more than a receptionist to both staff and patients alike. Vicky will not only attend to your appointment needs, but can answer all your questions, whether it be about your billing, our services or even a new knitting project. Having been with us since 2008 her familiar residency makes everyone feel at home.

Cathy has been with us since 2023, coming with glowing recommendations. Her sharp attention to detail and her strength as a frame stylist have made her an invaluable member of our dispensing team.

Hailing from Iran, Leila enjoyed a successful 8 year career as an optometrist in Tehran. A published researcher, with a Master’s degree in optometry from Iran University, Leila and her family have now settled in Canada. Having completed the Opticionry program at Georgian College and graduating on the Deans Honours List, Leila is happy to call Oxford Optometry home.  A patient and thoughtful educator, Leila effectively conducts our contact lens teach sessions. Fluent in both Farsi and English, Leila takes great pride in her job and looks forward to helping you choose your next frame, walking you through the best lens choice for you and your needs.

This is Dana’s 2nd time at Oxford Optometry. Once confident that her 2 young daughters were safely enrolled in full-time school, we happily welcomed Dana back into our fold. Having been trained in ophthalmology, Dana is masterful at taking her patients through their pretesting and answering questions all while keeping her doctors on schedule.

A published researcher, with a Master’s degree in optometry from Iran University, Reza spent 17 years working as an optometrist in Tehran. Reza now works alongside Dr. Andreasen. Fluent in both Farsi and English, Reza is excited to be able to support our doctors tending to your ocular needs.

Maddie is currently on maternity leave knitting, arranging flowers and tending to her 2 little girls.

Levi is a favourite of both staff and patients, working hard to keep us all calm and stress free. Feeling a little nervous about well…anything? Pop in and let Levi work his magic. Sometimes a little snuggle really is the best therapy.
